223 Pounds

I thought it was all over at soccer tonight when I twisted my knee on a weird play. Oddly enough, I magically recovered and I was able to get back in the game. Most importantly, I got my workout. As for the result, we had our third loss in a row. We played okay and just got unlucky.

As for my knee injury, I am mostly compressing and taking ibuprofen. I should be fine but I will check it out tomorrow. One thing I can look forward to when I hit my short term weight goal of 215 is a little less stress on the old joints.

So I got back at it again with a faster run. My weight is up and nothing has changed but the increase in movement. Be my guest if you can explain that one…

Oh well, I am feeling good and that is what’s important. Actually, I am a little surprised I am feeling good, because this morning I “archived” a few dress pants that I can no longer fit around my little tire tube. I guess I am pretty confident that I will be pulling them out of the “archive” soon…if I stay on this pace of run, run, soccer and relatively healthy eating.

You will never guess…I made it onto the treadi again today. It was great to be back and I pulled off a long one. I might have found a tip for all you waiverers out there like me. If you need a jolt to get your body going, do something you absolutely love. For some that might be walking the zoo or an amusement park, but for me it is soccer. I really think my weakly soccer games have helped me get over the first of many hills.

Another tip I found was to get a TV set up for your personal gym. I set up a projector for movies but the bulb went out. For right now I have a TV and it seems to make the run a little more fun. I still like podcasts while I run, but they are still just a little bit more work to set up than good old trashy TV.

I guess now I have to tell you what I was watching. Well at first I had King of the Hill where Hank had to run from the bulls. Funny! After that I really turned up the trash with some show about the 100 worst TV dating moments. I would never watch this kind of crap, but I think if you are doing something meaningful like running, you can pretty much watch what you want.

That is all I have for now.
